The challenge of crossing the Alleghenies was one of the Pennsylvania Railroads biggest feats.
It remains helper territory to this day.  In 1992 we visited the area covering Conrail from
Altoona to South Fork.  Lots of great action was filmed from many locations, some not so easily
accessible any longer.

This program was formerly part of a VHS program called "Conrail's Mountain Main Lines"
The original footage has been completely re-edited and re-mastered for DVD.  There is some
footage not seen in the VHS program.
