Sunrise to Sunset
Lock 13 - Randall, NY

Along the north bank of the Mohawk River in eastern
Upstate New York is CSXT's mainline to and from the Midwest.
As with most mainlines in the United States, traffic has been on the increase
over the last several years.

On a beautiful mid-June day, one of the longest days of
the year, we set out to document the passage of every train
from sunrise to sunset. The location was from the grounds at Lock 13 of
the New York State Canal System.
With over 15 hours of daylight, a lot of trains were hoped for. It was a
pleasant surprise to see 47!
Plenty of foreign power, and a bit of the canals recreational boating passing by.
This program shows all of them, complete with their
symbols, origin, destination, and time of day using brief
on-screen graphics.
