Autumn on the D&H - -
A look at the line from Delanson to Oneonta |
 |
Featuring
Guilford's early years with a great variety of power. Also includes
the Central Vermont, Conrail, The Saint Lawrence & Atlantic, and much more! |
 |
A more
mature Guilford, the new New England Central, Conrail, Green Mountain, the
D&H (CP Rail), and more! |
 |
More
changes in the Northeast, this time featuring the
short-lived Iron Road Railway, The P&W, Mass Central, Conrail, St. L&A, and
even the
Grafton & Upton! |
 |
The final in this series of
Northeast compilations. This time we show CSX as it had taken over the
Conrail lines. Also the Vermont Rail System, P&W, CP Rail,
Guilford, and more. |
 |
In the
early 1990's
The Bangor and Aroostook was in its final years, while the Saint Lawrence
and Atlantic was in its infancy. Plenty of trackside action and a cab
ride on both lines! |
 |
From Ayer,
MA to Rotterdam Jct, NY, we explore the often controversial Guilford Rail
System. You'll see an interesting stable of motive power on this
stretch of track revitalized after the CSX acquisition of Conrail in the
Northeast. |
 |
The stretch
of the BNSF "Transcon" through the Coconino and Kaibab National Forests in
Northern Arizona is a remarkably unique area. No pumpkins had yet
arrived in this 1996 production. |
 |
Action on
the Seligman Sub from Topock to Canyon Diablo. Often desolate, but
always fascinating with BNSF providing an almost non-stop parade of trains! |
 |
Eight years
after our first visit to the Coconino and Kaibab National Forests, we find
even more traffic on the BNSF Transcontinental
main line! |
 |
One of the favorite
railfanning spots in the Northeast would have to be Palmer, Massachusetts.
This program covers action in Palmer and as far west as Wilbraham, MA |
 |
Volume 2 of the Palmer
programs. This time we cover action as far east as East Brookfield,
MA. |
 |
The busiest rail yard in
the Northeast gets covered from the ground, the air, and from the hump tower
to the engine shops. Also see trackside action from the lines
radiating from Selkirk! |
 |
The rumors had turned to
fact as Conrail was going to be taken over by CSX and NS. See
Conrail's last stand through a wonderfully unique section of
Eastern NY State! |
 |
Only 30 of the unique
SD80MAC's were produced, and they all became the property of Conrail.
This program shows them all from Selkirk, NY to Framingham, MA! |
 |
A
historical event for Northeast railroading took place with CSXT's
acquisition of Conrail. We focus on the Boston Line through the
Berkshire Mountains, and cover operations during the last few months of
Conrail to the first few months of CSX. |
 |
A look at
CSXT's Selkirk Subdivision from its western end to its eastern end.
Includes Selkirk Yard and lots of trackside action from many locations.
Lots of foreign power! |
 |
Reviewing
CSXT's operations on former Conrail lines including the River, Boston,
Mohawk, Selkirk, and Berkshire Subdivisions! |
 |
A year of
action in the Mohawk Valley from Amsterdam to Little Falls, NY. See
some great power lashups, through a variety of weather. This 90 minute
program features the best of over 12 hours of raw footage! |
 |
We spent
one of the longest days of the year to document every train that ran from
sunrise to sunset. The location was the grounds of Lock 13 in Randall,
NY. An amazing 47 trains were seen! |
 |
Perhaps the
biggest rail event in the Northeast of the decade was the operation of 7
coal trains by the P&W to Binghamton, NY. This program covers them on
the D&H from Delanson to just north of Bingo! |
 |
A tour of "Illiana"
featuring many railroads in many locations. This program is presented
from a Railfan's (my) point of view, and as a standard rail video
documentary. |
 |
The amazing
Columbia River Gorge in the Pacific Northwest features 2 railroads skirting
its banks. This program focuses on the BNSF from North Bonneville, WA
to Wishram &
OT Junction. |
 |
On the
south side of the gorge is the Union Pacific RR. See trains from
Cascade Locks to OT Junction. The we continue east for some great
action into the grades of the Blue Mountains! |
 |
Absolutely
awesome may best describe the Fraser & Thompson River Canyons in Southwest
British Columbia. The CP, CN, and BCR (still with lots of Alco/MLW's)
are visited in 1987. The footage is not professional, but the content
is worth it! |
 |
A trip to the "Funnel" and
to Marias Pass in 1988 features pre-merger Burlington Northern action in the
Northwest. Amateur footage digitally re-mastered into an enjoyable
DVD. |
 |
The "Cat" survives during
the first few years of the CSX era, and you'll see plenty of Chessie,
including many pure lashups during this 1988 visit to Cumberland, MD, and
Sand Patch! |
 |
Still the Santa Fe, and
Still the Southern Pacific, along with the "Kodachrome" scheme of the
ill-fated SPSF merger. Monstrously long intermodals, the SP tank
trains, and even a loaded coal train climbing the loop with 2 sets of
helpers! |
