There is not much quite as awesome as the spectacle of a rotary snow plow and the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad still operates a steam powered rotary. Join us for an amazing two day visit to the famed 64 mile narrow gauge line as steam-powered rotary OY clears the upper reaches of the line for the first time in a decade.

It is a magical combination of spectacular mountain railroading and steam power as two 2-8-2 locomotives shove the chugging plow in a blizzard of 5 foot drifts at the summit of 10,000 foot Cumbres Pass. We'll see the first passenger train make it through the newly cleared pass. History is alive and works hard on the Cumbres & Toltec!
