1995 was the beginning of the 1990s merger mania in the railroad industry. Go back to that year and see an independent Santa Fe, Union Pacific and Burlington Northern as they dominate the railroad scene in one of the nation's premier railroad towns, Kansas City. Train sounds are clear and exciting. Narration is limited but informative, having been written by local railfan Bob Ernst. Locations and trains are marked with on-screen captions.This video was shot using professional equipment of the time, but is not up to the clarity of today's high-definition video. It is however, an excellent snapshot of an important time in the nation's railroad history.
